This past weekend Mr. Busy Bryant and myself visited Wintergreen Resort in Nelson County Virginia. Wintergreen was playing host to the Super Spartan race and we were crazy enough to sign up! Apparently though there were over 7,000 other crazy people so I don't feel so deranged. Mark and I went with a team and staying in one of the most amazing places ever. The view alone from the patio was worth going.
Our team mates are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. I can't say we did much running at the race. It seemed like all we did was go straight up mountains and then straight down them...but we did laugh together...A LOT. And I'm pretty sure we all cussed together the next morning as our sore muscles screamed for help!
Today we are back home...starting the work week, planning birthday parties, working on back-to-school projects and yes still nursing the screaming muscles. Hope you had a great weekend my friends!

Monday Love
This weekend was filled with so many great sites and sounds. Kids laughing, people cheering and a beautiful city that played host to the State Indoor Track Meet. Monday is here and I have plenty to share in the up coming days. Happy Monday everyone.

Monday Love
It was a very rainy weekend here in Central Virginia. It lead to a weekend spent indoors with family and friends....with crafting and cooking a big part of the focus.
The rain is gone now leaving behind patches of sunshine and Monday Love. How was your weekend?

Monday Love
We're well into October and I don't have the first Halloween Tree picture up yet....shame on me! This weekend we had much love for the warm weather and for celebrating all that October brings with it.
We found plenty of excuses to get outside and enjoy the last little bit of warm weather that we could. Thank you Mother Nature for an excellent weekend!

Monday Love
The weather here in Virginia has been crazy for August! Down in the sixties at night and seventies during the day! So it was the perfect weekend to take advantage of the cooler air and head outside.
Emma and I spent Saturday morning at a local park. Apparently getting up and out of the house at the crack of dawn has it's advantages. We were the ONLY ones at the park. I was loving it....Emma being the social butterfly, was not as happy. But she made due by playing we me.
Saturday night we loaded the bikes and headed to Richmond for the Anthem Moonlight Bike Ride. This was a new-to-us event. A couple friends joined us on the 17 mile ride and I think we are all in favor of doing it again next year. No lie....walking and sitting afterward was a little tricky but it was worth it.
Sunday was a rainy day around here. But no worries....even the Busy Bryants need a day to rest and recharge. We made it an extra easy day by dragging out the crock pot, avoiding all the laundry that needed done and didn't even THINK about going to the gym!
So how did you spend your weekend?

The Tough Mudder take II was a wash out, again! Tropical storm Andrea flooded the course and for safety reasons the race was cancelled! We'll transfer again and get this race DONE but it was a huge let down. Good thing we had a great friend come to town to help put a smile back on our faces. A friend I have not seen in years. We were asked if we were sisters a few times....just like way back when :-)

I started my orientation to my new job today. Amazing group of people with such a strong history of commitment to community! My kind of place! Hope you had a great weekend and Monday is being kind to you.

Monday Love
It was an exciting weekend for the Busy Bryant Family. There was a race, a road trip to Ikea, some fire and lots of laughs among friends.
The fire came in the form of a well controlled fire in our back yard. So, no, I didn't burn anything down this time! Hope your weekend was just as exciting and I hope the start of the week is treating you well.

Monday Love
AWOL....yes that is what I have been. There are things going on in the Busy Bryant house that have left me without words. My friends would never believe that but it's true. I have no words to describe how life has been lately. Or better yet there are words, but words that I don't want to verbalize. But the adventures are still there. And so instead of just remaining AWOL I thought I would share the pictures and share what few words come to mind. Since I last blogged....Spring showed up, Easter came and went, I biked part of a trail I've been wanting to bike and the kids....the kids constantly amaze me.
I WILL be back before the end of the week. I want to share the pictures from the biking adventure I went on last week. Hope Monday was good to you.

Monday Love
Today I have Monday Love...but NO love for the SNOW. I mean it's Spring for crying out loud!
Earlier in the morning we had been cleaning the yard. And so glad we did. The sleet started just before we finished and after all was said and done we had about two inches. I hope it melts in time and we don't get more before Easter. I can see now trying to find eggs in the snow!
Hope the week is good to you!

Monday Love
Yes I took a break from Blogging...Lots of things going on for the Busy Bryants. Things that have really taken a toll on my mood and I didn't want that to be reflected in my postings. Today I have some fun things to share from the weekend...it was a busy one. Slightly glad to see Monday!
A race with lots of little green men....and women.
A birthday celebration for my dad
Yes...yes that is a night gown and rain boots...we don't ask anymore
Mom I just can't do another thing with this laundry...she is slightly dramatic
There was also time spent with good friends, more time with family and food....amazing food! How about you? How was your weekend spent?

Monday Love
I'm bearly making it in time for my Monday post. It has been a whirlwind of a week and my head is still slightly spinning. Over the last several months I've been on a rollar coaster ride of emotions over my job...and this week things got worse....BUT....it's just another thing to overcome so I'm trying not to sweat it.
This weekend we celebrated the birthday of my sister-in-law....how did I not get pictures? Maybe because of the wine involved :-/ We finally painted our living room and dining room (It's been a year coming) and I had a slight accident involving a Pampered Chef Steamer. I was also able to get my St. Patrick's Day things out of the attic....Let the green start flowing.
I am glad to say I've made it through Monday....and the rest of the week should just glide right by!

Monday Love
We didn't start the weekend off with any grand plans...and we pretty much kept it that way. Other than the time we spent swimming at the gym (or in my case soaking in hot tub) we stayed in and just enjoyed the down time.
Weather got warm enough on Sunday to actually play outside! I made my first walk around the yard to get an idea of what I would have to be doing this spring....as far as replacing plants. I was shocked to see green on several plants.
This week is busy with work, more work and a splash of wine to help make it through all that work. I am thankful Indoor Track is done for the season....however I only have about a week of break time before Outdoor Track starts for the year. Tommy has reminded me that in a months time he can get his learners permit....I remind him constantly I CAN'T WAIT til he can drive! Hope your week is starting off great!

I finished the weekend by making this orange cake. My mom made this a couple weeks back and I declared it my second favorite cake. And now I have the recipe!

Monday Love
We had big plans to spend part of our weekend touring some of the wineries of Charlottesville. But after listening to weather reports we decided to make the most of the local area and hang close to home. That did not mean staying home. We were just as busy as if we had gone out of town.
We'll push the Charlottesville trip back a month and try it again later. For now we are content with the three bottles of heaven we brought back from Saude Creek Winery. What did you do this weekend?
