An Attitude of Gratitude Day 9

It's no secret that our family enjoys a good adventure.  And today I'm thankful for all the opportunities to get out and enjoy those great places.  If it weren't for my ready, willing and able family we would not have made the many great memories that I cherish so much today.  And if it weren't for the fact that both Mark and I have good jobs and are able to work we could not take off on the weekends in search of "the perfect spot".

Today, on day 9 of An Attitude of Gratitude, I am thankful for the many adventures were able to take part in.  And it's a darn good thing they all like it....cause we're off on another adventure :)

I actually took this picture a year ago when we were packed up and about the hit the Virginia Creeper Trail.  This morning as I walked out of the house the "bus" looked almost exactly like this.  Bikes loaded up, frost on the windows and all gased up for a weekend of fun.  This time were headed to Bear Creek State Park.  We'll be staying in a cabin and since the weather is supposed to be in the 70's were hoping for some great hiking and biking action.  I did scope out a winery not too far away so maybe after everyone is worn out I'll take them there to just relax and the adults can refuel.

Happy adventures people!  Make it a great weekend!

An Attitude of Gratitude Day 8

On this day...day 8 of my Attitude of Gratitude...I'm thankful for these two folks....

Ma and Pa Kettle :) she is laughing....non sneezing!

If anyone ever wants to know where I get my sense of humor, my stubbornness, my hot temper or if you have ever wondered where I get my super awesomeness.....then look no futher than my parents.  At times we have a love/hate relationship and at times I know they shake their heads and wonder where they went wrong :)  But at the end of the day I love them and I know that they love me.  Heck, if for nothing else they love me for giving them three grand kids!  Haha.

They have hung in there for most of our adventures and even when we pull out of the driveway not exactly sure what lies ahead they only complain a little :)  I have booked them into a hotel with the Pegan Motorcycle Club, had them stay in a camp infested with skunks and dragged them to more wineries than I'm sure they ever care to see...but they keep saying yes to going with us so I'll keep asking....because it always more of an adventure when they go!

Hey mom and dad.....you packed for this weekend yet?  The cabin is calling!

An Attitude of Gratitude Day 7

Today's post is an easy one...Day 7 of my Attitude of Gratitude.  Today I'm thankful for time to just chill out and relax with the family...especially my stinkerbell Emma.

When the evenings get chilly and playing outside is just not an option then snuggling on the couch is what we like to do.  Mark and I were watching the news while Emma was trying to wake up from a long nap...it's hard work playing all day with Granny!

An Attitude of Gratitude Day 6

Today I'm thankful for my freedom and for the opportunity to choose our next leader.  It really does make me feel like we live in the greatest country ever.

I got to the polls early thinking I would beat the rush :-/  I waited in line for 40 minuets....a small price to pay to exercise my rights.  At least it wasn't raining or windy :-)

It's all about finding the good and today I found it all around me.  Talking to the strangers in line, thanking the heavens I've got transportation to get to the polls and being thankful for those that fought so that I have the rights I have today.

An Attitude of Gratitude Day 5

As a parent we all know that the love we feel for our kids is beyond words.  We would do anything for them.  We would go to the edges of the earth to ensure their health and happiness...and I'm just like every parent when it comes to my kids.  So today, on day 5 of my Attitude of Gratitude, I'm thankful for my kids.

The argue with me, fight with each other, wear me down to total exhaustion and yet they make me happier than a pig in slop :)  I thank my lucky stars everynight for each one and whenever I see a shooting star or make a birthday wish it is always for the same thing, "That my kids are happy."  Because that is what they bring to me....total happiness.
