Monday Love

AWOL....yes that is what I have been.  There are things going on in the Busy Bryant house that have left me without words.  My friends would never believe that but it's true.  I have no words to describe how life has been lately.  Or better yet there are words, but words that I don't want to verbalize.  But the adventures are still there.  And so instead of just remaining AWOL I thought I would share the pictures and share what few words come to mind.  Since I last blogged....Spring showed up, Easter came and went, I biked part of a trail I've been wanting to bike and the kids....the kids constantly amaze me.

I WILL be back before the end of the week.  I want to share the pictures from the biking adventure I went on last week.  Hope Monday was good to you.

Monday....opps....Tuesday Love

I'm hoping everyone had a fabulous Easter and great weekend.  Our family celebrated with food, family, the traditional Easter Egg hunt and the not so traditional egg hunt.  We also found time to visit a couple local place that I've wanted to go visit for some time now.  I even managed to slip in some time to finish up some yard projects I've been meaning to get done.

An Easter Tree skirt

Over the years that I have been doing a seasonal tree I have collected hundreds of ornaments and crafted hundreds on top of that.  But what I don't usually do is change out the tree skirt.  I bought a pretty white satin skirt a few years ago and being neutral it went with everything.  Somewhere down the road I bought a cheap green skirt and now use it for the St. Patrick's Tree but then I go back to the standard white one.  This year I wanted just a little something different for Easter.  But I also wanted easy and cheap.  Target came through for me!

I bought a round Easter vinyl table cloth.  Used my existing tree skirt as a pattern to judge how big it should be.  Then I cut the round table cloth down to the size of the tree skirt.  Taa Dah!

I got so excited I tore it open before taking a picture :0/

And finally in place

All done...in maybe 15 minutes!

Now that is my kind of crafting: cheap ($4.99), easy and super cute!  Happy Friday to you all.  Hope you are having a great one.

Easter in Virginia

This year the Governor and First Lady of Virginia (Bob and Maureen McDonnell) hosted an Easter Egg hunt at Capitol Square.  It was the first Easter egg hunt ever hosted in Virginia by the Governor....and mother nature must have been in a good mood!  The weather was calling for storms and rain starting at 4pm, lasting until 6pm.  The egg hunt was to be from 5pm until 7pm.  But as Emma, Mark and myself waited for the festivities to begin not a cloud could be seen.

Emma wanted no parts of it!

This was as close to the front of the
Easter Bunny she would get...but she
did like to pull the tail!

And that is not crime scene tape....it's to tape off
different sections of the hunt for
different age groups.

Everyone was asked to bring a gift
for a baby.  The gifts will be donated
to expectant military moms

Emma's buddy was making sure she didn't
run off :)

It was a fun afternoon and so glad we could be a part of it.  Emma may never remember it but I'll remember it as the day she tried to pull the bunny's tail off.   ;0)

The Easter Tree

With Easter just a couple weeks away I have been super busy trying to get my Easter decorations up around the house and on the seasonal tree.  I finally have the tree close enough to finished so that I could snap some pictures of it.

The Easter Tree

The various eggs I've bought here and there over the years, the yarn pom-poms I made myself (find out how I did it here).  The yarn garland I also made (I have links here that tell you how I made the garland).  There are a couple baskets on the tree that I picked up at Michael's I believe.  I have a new idea for a spring tree skirt so if I'm AWOL you can find me at home working on that.

These pretties were just to nice not to share.
